A freeman’s sacrifices, bloods and tears.

Independence Day, yes we talk about independence usually when we have our lessons in history, but why is it that it is very significant for us Filipinos? Independence is a really crucial topic, it brings back a lot of memories, tragedy and joy. Tragedy for the lives that has been sacrificed for the preservation of our culture, and joy for we had attained the freedom we have been wanting to.

Nothing is more significant than claiming the independence of the Philippines. It is a moment that would be cherished forever, after decades of cruelty and slavery, we finally attained the freedom we want, our own way of living and has protected our Filipino culture. Independence is not there, if it was not because of our brave heroes who fought until their death.

As a millennial student, it is important to acknowledge this day, because if this day did not happen, I might be dead or a slave of the foreigners. Also, the culture of our country has been preserved and in my opinion that is true essence of independence day,  living a life of a Filipino.
